"Only Time Will Tell" by Asia - January 13th 80's Quest Song/Band of the day

I LOOOOVE this song by Asia! Always have, and always will. Asia was an English prog-rock supergroup formed in 1981 consisting of John Wetton from King Crimson, Geoff Downes of Yes and The Buggles, Steve Howe of Yes, and Carl Palmer of Emerson Lake and Palmer.

Isn't this video soooo 80's with the wall of televisions?!  I love it when the drums kick in near the beginning. And the lyrics that just get me to my core:

"I see it now.
Becomes so clear.
Your insincerity.
And me all starry eyed...You think that I would have known by now"

That part is just so beautiful! I was "feeling" those lines back when I was 15 years old and this song came out in 1982, and unfortunately, I am still "feeling" those lines at age 44 all these years later. I dunno why love has to be some damn hard, if everyone wants it!

Lyrics:

You're leaving now
It's in your eyes
There's no disguising it
It really comes as no surprise
To find that you planned it all along

I see it now
Becomes so clear
Your insincerity
And me all starry-eyed
You'd think that I would have known by now

[Chorus:]
Now, sure as the sun will cross the sky
This lie is over
Lost, like the tears that used to tide me over

(Only time will tell)
One thing is sure
That time will tell
(Only time will tell)
If you were wrong
The brightest ring around the moon
Will darken when I die

[Chorus]

You're leaving now
It's in your eyes
There's no disguising it
It really comes as no surprise
To find that you planned it all along

I see it now
Becomes so clear
Your insincerity
And me all starry-eyed
You'd think that I would have known by now

[Chorus]

(Only time will tell)
You're on your own
Inside your room
(Only time will tell)
You're claiming victory
You were just using me
And there is no one you can use now

(Only time will tell)
One thing is sure
That time will tell...
