"Easy Lover" Philip Bailey with Phil Collins - January 16th 80's Quest Song/Band of the day

Now this song is going to run through my head ALL day! That's the thing about this song...once you hear it you end up singing it all day long. Maybe it will happen to you too (insert evil laugh here: ha-ha-haaaaa!). This song came out in 1984. Philip Bailey was one of the singers in Earth Wind and Fire. He sang the high falsetto songs like "Reasons". Bailey put out a solo album. Phil Collins produced it and joined in on this song. At this time, at least where I lived, Phil Collins was the more popular artist, but I'm sure some would beg to differ. My older sister had joined the Army in the late 70's and was stationed down South and got into all kinds of R&B music. Earth Wind and Fire were her favorite band and they were big, big, big. Years and years and years later I went to go see EW&F with my sister. Philip Bailey looked so different (chubbier and with long dreads pulled into the high ponytail) I didn't even realize he was the same guy who sang "Easy Lover". So this is a real timepiece. Especially the Bill Cosby sweater and sweater vest that these two thought would be a great idea to wear for this video! This song rose to #2 on the Billboard charts.
