"Moonlight Romance" by Amazulu - January 7th 80's Quest Song/Band of the day

Did anyone else have the Amazulu album except me? I was trying to remember how I even heard about them in the first place and thought it might have been from reading Smash Hits (a U.K. import magazine that used to print all the lyrics to a ton of songs. These were the days before you could just look these things up on the internet, afterall), but now that I found this clip of their appearance on one of my favorite English comedies from the 80's, "The Young Ones"....maybe I learned of them from there.

Anyway....I did enjoy their self-titled album, even if it was a little pop-ish. I guess they caught my interest because they had a few things going for them...Girl Group!!! (Girl groups were a big thing in the 80's), girl group with dreadlocks doing ska...that's different (!), and they were from England. I was a big Anglophile as far as music in the 80's went. A ton of the best music was coming over from England. That being said....Amazulu was not THE BEST, but they had a few ditties that I liked like "Montego Bay" "Cairo" and "Too Good to Be Forgotten" that had an island-feel to them and made me feel like I was on vacation when I listened to them.
